TEDxYouth@Granville Island
The design theme for this year is "Connections." The global COVID-19 pandemic has made us realize the importance of connections and sharing relationships among people in society. The stage design for this event revolves around this idea. The underlying concept behind this year's speaking event is also to transform thoughts into inspirational actions by connecting personal experiences from the perspective of young people.
As the official website states, TEDxYouth@GranvilleIsland is the first TEDx youth event hosted from the iconic and beautiful community of Granville Island. Known for its reputation as Vancouver's premier cultural hub, Granville Island's unique charm is augmented by its rich and diverse artistic, culinary, and maritime history. These various facets connect together to form the island's distinct identity.
Design Theme:Connections
The design theme this time is "Connections". The global pandemic of CoronaVirus has made us realize the importance of connections and relationships between people in society. This stage design was designed around this idea, and the concept behind this year’s lecture event is also a catalyst for transforming personal experiences into ideas of inspiring actions from a young person’s perspective.
Based on this theme, the students initially tried to use cloth and steel wire to simulate the shape of multi-dimensional sound waves, to represent the power of language and sound to shorten the distance between people, and link the relationship between people. At the same time, this also coincides with the slogan of TEDxYouth "Voice Creativity Through Connectivity". After many attempts, large installations can be easily collapsed due to the instability of the steel wires. So the students switched to using more stable pillars as supports, and at the same time they chose to use more elastic and extensible fabrics to simulate the invisible flow of sound waves. Ultimately, combined with light, a richly layered visual effect will be presented. Let us look forward to the final presentation of the finished product!

Art Hope Foundation
Art Hope Foundation was established in 2013. It mainly promotes the spread of charitable value through art exhibitions and activities. The organization hopes to provide high school students with a growth stage to improve their social experience and social competitiveness through the practice of various public welfare activities, thereby cultivating their personal leadership, teamwork and social responsibility, and helping to broaden their horizons and look to the future. Art Hope has organized activities including art auctions, public interactive art, and charity fundraising.
Art Hope provides students with the opportunity to lead the team every year by electing student union leaders. We open various position opportunities in the team to students, so that everyone can explore their potential in different fields and build a team spirit. In this process, students can also learn to improve their creative thinking in art design, maximize the function and influence of art design, and realize value in modern society.
